Top 4 Foods To Avoid If You Have Oily Skin

Fatty Meat
Unfortunately, the fatty meat we mean here happen to be the very delicious ones like bacon, sausage, beef and lambs. Although very tasty, they also come with rich saturated fat content which is linked to obesity, diabetes, inflammation and heart disease. There are certain people who consume much of these meaty foods and less of the anti-inflammatory foods like tuna, salmon, mackerel and other fishes from cold waters.

Dietitian Dr. Nicholas Perricone says increasing consumption of cold water fish can promote healthier skin. For maximum benefits, you can prepare your fish via low fat ways of cooking like broiling, baking or poaching.

Enriched Flour
These foods are formed via a process wherein whole grain is stripped off most of its fiber and nutrient content. This results in enriched cereals, breads, pasta and baked goods that have higher glycemic index or impact on blood sugar, compared to whole grains. Investigative research shows that having a low glycemic diet can reduce acne occurrence. That's because hormone levels are seen to have improved, which in turn, leads to decrease in production of oil. Go for whole grains like oats, barley and brown rice.
Salty Foods for Snacks
The common required dose of daily sodium is 1,500 mg or roughly less than one teaspoon of table salt. As per Perricone, a diet that's high in sodium poses risks to your skin's health because it increases inflammation. The likes of crackers, french fries and potatoes contain trans-fats which makes the effects oily skin worse. Replace these salty foods with low sodium whole grain crackers, air-popped popcorn with natural herb seasoning and freshly-cut vegetables.

Added Sugars
These added sugars come in the likes of cane sugar, corn syrup, honey, dextrose and maltose. While they may add a flavor that's oh so sweet, they also come with many calories and just very few nutrients. Much like the enriched flour, it has a high glycemic index and can disturb the natural balance of hormone levels and blood sugar. This results in oil production increase and greater acne risk.

Limit your intake of food and drinks that's high in added sugars. These are your favorite soft drinks, cakes, pastries, pies, frozen desserts, candy, jelly, jam and pancake syrup. Replace them with more intake of vegetables and fresh fruits which all come with great benefits for your blood sugar as well as skin and health overall.

4 Ways To Ditch Dry Skin Just With What You Got in kitchen Now

Coconut oil:

Coconut oil has the ability to moisten dry skin on the face in a more natural way resulting in softer skin that is in contrast to its previous scaly appearance. The fatty acid in the oil also ensures that the moisture on the skin is not lost regardless of the weather. For excellent results, apply a generous amount of the coconut oil on the whole face just before getting into bed and then ensuring that it is washed off every morning.

Banana yoghurt face pack:

The mixture of yoghurt and bananas can make even the most exhausted dry skin look alive and rejuvenated. The bananas used are mashed and the yoghurt added, for it to form a sticky mixture that is applied on dry patches on the skin and left for thirty minutes before being rinsed off using warm water. The use of this face pack leaves the skin moisturized while exfoliating the skin to remove dead cells.

Sugar and Lemon juice:

These two ingredients when mixed together make an excellent exfoliating scrub that leaves the skin glowing and soft to the touch. The lemon juice has vitamin c that is acidic resulting in a lighter skin tone while encouraging cell growth as well. For good results apply the scrub on the skin in a circular motion especially on the rough spots so that it becomes even.

Egg yolk and olive oil:

This combination is one of the most important home remedies for dry skin on face because it is a natural antioxidant because of the presence of vitamins K and E. When these two ingredients are whipped together, until they become stable, they can then be applied to the face as a mask. The result is a smooth and well moisturized face.

8 Stuffs You Dare To Eat for Great Skin

1. Probiotics
Once the natural flora of our stomach is disturbed due to infection, stress or antibiotics, it manifests itself through upset stomach or skin conditions like acne, wrinkles, eczema and psoriasis. An effective way to combat these is by taking a probiotic supplement or consuming fermented food like buttermilk, yogurt, miso, kefir, sauerkraut and kimchi.

2. Prebiotics
As nutrients that promote good bacteria growth in your large intestine, prebiotics coat your gut's lining, helping to secure it; thus, no substances can leak or cause irritation. Prebiotic foods include bananas, grains, garlic and onions.

3. Super Seeds
Omega-3s are healthy fats that are very good for dry skin. They come with anti-inflammatory properties and are also good in moisturizing skin, keeping it supple and smooth for fine lines to be hardly seen.

Studies have also revealed that eating foods rich in omega-3 help to protect skin from the sun's damages like skin cancer. Rich sources of these foods are mackerel, sardines and salmon. If you don't eat fish, you can go for chia seeds or flaxseed.

Harper says one ground of such seeds can already provide six times the required everyday amount. You can blend the seeds in smoothies, sprinkle on salads or add as a crunchy topping in your oatmeal.

4. Purple Produce
A good way of neutralizing free radicals is by consuming foods that are rich in antioxidants. Aside from leafy green veggies, berries and beans, these are your purple foods that happen to be abundant in anthocyanins, an antioxidant that aids in circulation improvement.

This increase in your blood's flow helps transport nutrients that enables your skin to form collagen, elastin and new cells. Sources include purple cabbages, purple potatoes, purple cauliflowers, blueberries and raspberries.

5. No Sugar
Sugar causes glycation, a process that makes skin age prematurely. How does this happen? The sugar found in your blood binds with proteins and hastens the formation of advanced glycation end products (AGEs) which also spur enzymes found in your skin to chomp up elastic tissue and collagen. Now, it just so happens that decrease of collagen and elastin supply leads to sagging, wrinkles and uneven skin tone

6. Curry
Also known as curcumin, turmeric is a staple of curries and aids in reducing skin irritation. Latest studies found that turmeric supplements, whether topical or oral, boost skin photo protection. This good-for-the skin spice is sourced from curry powder. Adding it to your diet can help protect your skin from solar damage.

7. Spices
Spices can perk up any meal. If you're fond of it, we have good news. Cinnamon and ginger are abundant in antioxidants and have anti-inflammatory properties that aid in reducing puffiness of your face while reducing surface skin inflammation.
